Last time out, he outclassed his opponents.
On Saturday, he could reach his favorite position again.
Mizai has the advantage in the Silver division final.
The Elitlopp week is here, and as usual, Solvalla arranges the finals in the Swedish Trotting League the day before the big race. In the high-class Silver division final, Mizai (V75-5) was lucky in the draw when he got post position two behind the gate.
"I was thrilled when I saw the post position. You have to ask Mats (Djuse) about the tactics from here, but the horse has shown that he's a good front runner, and of course, it's good to be as close to the front as possible on a day like that. If we just can present him in top form, I hope that he's one of the horses fighting for the win."
Gets a boost from the crowd
When Mizai won a leg of the Silver division in his most recent start, he easily held up the lead from his inside post, and after an initial kilometer in 1:11.2, he stepped away to win without being threatened.
"He was good, but not surprisingly good since he's a good horse. He showed that in Gävle last year, too, when he won in 1:11 over the middle distance. But, he also just had two starts in his legs before his last start, and we weren't sure if his form was good enough, but it was, and he was great."
How has he trained after that?
"It was a tough race, so he took it easy the first week, and then he trained as usual. Last Wednesday, I trained him a bit tougher. I gave him several intervals in the sand, and he got tired. He felt good and he will train a few nice and slow intervals today, Monday, and one more time later this week. I think and hope that we have him in top form."
There is a lot of focus on the pressure from the crowd this weekend. Is that something that could affect him?
"I think it makes him happy. He thinks it's fun to show off, and when he won in Gävle last year, there was a pretty big crowd, too."
If he wins, will we get to see the Olsen show in front of the grandstand?
"Haha. I don't know, but I have to at least get over to the winner's circle for that."
